Hello and Thanks for stopping here.
A few years agao I bought an old (or older) house. It was just a question of time when I would get the first unwanted guests there. After a few month I saw some trails of them. Mice. I had no idea how many and where. I found their leavings in the kitchen. Thinking about possible diseases I got as many information as I could off the internet. I put traps everywhere but it seemed that the mice expected every move I did. I caught a few but the trails came back every time.
The first thing I did was cutting off their food supply. Everything went into tight containers. And I invested into mouse traps. I learned that the simplest ones seem to work the best. Being environmental aware I decided on Humane or Live Mouse Traps. I caught several ones in a very short periode of time. The kids and I released them in the nearest park.
We even started to build a couple of homemade traps.
The mice are gone – and to make sure that it stayes that way I am using repellents. A chemical repellent around the house. I apply it once in Spring. I also have a few Ultrasonic Repellents working. One in the basement and one on each floor. My house is free of mice since several years.
I hope that you find some helpful information or at least a starting point for your search and quest.
